Connecting with your GP practice online has never been easier. Whether you need to order prescriptions, request appointments, or access health information, we offer several convenient methods. Here’s what you need to know:
- SystmOnline Account
- This is our original service, available since 2010.
- If you’ve been ordering prescriptions or booking appointments for years, you’re likely to be familiar with it.
- To get your SystmOnline username and password, visit your GP practice with photo ID.
- NHS App/Online:
- Relatively new and associated with the NHS App.
- Accessible on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
- Originally used for COVID vaccination proof, the NHS App now offers many more features.
- Set up your account independently by creating a password linked to your email address.
- Online Message System:
- No account needed!
- Use it to contact us without waiting on the phone or at the surgery door.
- Access it through our website or the NHS App/Online to connect to the right practice.
What Are These Services For?
- NHS App and SystmOnline Accounts:
- Linked directly to your health record.
- Require an email/username and password for security.
- You can have both accounts if you’d like.
- Manage your healthcare and access your health record.
- Online Message System:
- Contact us about medical issues or general queries.
- Integrates with the NHS account to link messages with your personal details.
- We’ll check that you’re a registered patient before we respond.
Our Recommendation
While the choice is yours, we recommend using the NHS App/Online. With Its functionality and direct integration with our messaging tool, we find patients have a better experience.
NHS App / Online
Try the NHS App. If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. You can use the NHS App to get health advice, order repeat prescriptions, manage your hospital referrals, view your GP health record and more. If you already use SystmOnline you can continue to use it but you can use the NHS App as well. For more information go to www.nhs.uk/nhsapp.
What the NHS App does
- order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.
- book appointments – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments.
- check your symptoms – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments, and get instant advice or medical help near you.
- register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
- find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.
- view parts of your GP record – including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results.

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. SystmOnline allows you to:
- book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional
- order repeat prescriptions
- see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations and test results
- see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals
How to register for SystmOnline
If you have not used our online services before you will need to:
- Contact the surgery by phone or in person
- Verify your identity
- Secure a username and password
- Enter SystmOnline and enter your registration details exactly as shown on the form.
- After registering, log on with your username and password.

Online Message System
Our user-friendly online messaging system is a convenient way to get in touch with us. You don’t need to create an account, call, or visit in person. It’s designed to save you time and can be linked with the NHS App/Online for an even smoother experience. When you use our system, you’ll find different options to choose from:
Admin Request – Choose this for non-medical needs like prescription requests, sick/fit notes, test results, questions about your health records, or to arrange nurse appointments.
Medical Request – Use this for health concerns, whether it’s something new or an ongoing issue. A doctor or healthcare professional will provide advice, possibly arrange a call or in-person meeting, or direct you to local services.
Online Advice – Not sure if you need to see a doctor? This option helps you check your symptoms and offers guidance on what to do next according to NHS recommendations.
